Hello my lovelies! Today I'm so excited for today's post because it's going to be all about Etude House's Pink Cherry Blossom Play 101 Pencils!
Now I'm a bit sad because I haven't really got anywhere in my flat to take good photos, except on my set of drawers which is brown. I don't want a brown background. I want a white one like before when I was back in Sweden. So I'm sorry about the shitty backgrounds but I have an idea in mind so in a little while you'll be able to have a nicer backgoud for my photos!
Tha packaging is so cute! Love the floral details!
Ingredients list! It's quite long haha!
So this is what the pencils look like. you get finve different colours and they're a mix of glittery, shimmery & matte. The pencils are retractable but for all I know you can sharpen them too? Not too sure though :s
Here are swatches! Colours from left to right: 49, 41, 4, 62 & Pink Bon Bon.
49/ A dark chocolate brown shade with no shimmers
41/ A light hazelnut colour with slight shimmers
4/ A white glittery shade that's the exact same colour as one of Etude Houses Tear Drop Liners
62/ A Rosegold pink shade with gold shimmers. It feels like it's the pencil version of the Play 101 Stick in Rosegold.
Pink Bon Bon/ A bright coral pink with no shimmers.
Here they are on my face. I used all the pencils on my eyes except Pink Bon Bon. I went for a slight pinky/brown smokey eye with glittery white in the inner corners.
I've got Pink Bon Bon on my lips.
The first thing I need to say is that they are gel type pencils so they are super duper smooth and glides on really well. All of them bled quite easy but I felt like if I would to blend too much the colours would dissapear. The brown shades are super pigmented! Whilst I feel like the roseegold shade not so pigmented. The glittery white one is pigmented but really hard to blend. It literally just goes on and then stays there.
I used Nr. 62 all over the eye. Nr. 41 in the crease. Nr. 49 on the outer corner and Nr. 4 as inner corner + brow highlight.
I only had bb cream and powder on my eyelids. No primer or nothing to see how long they'd last on their own. Now as you can see they set in the creases of my eyelids really bad. I think it's because they're so creamy they sort of just slide around.
They did last all day (except the dark brown one) but my eyelids felt oily the whole time I wore these pencils. And I don't have oily eyelids unless I'm proper sweating ( nice ><).
So I'm honestly not sure what I feel about them.
I think they make amazing eyeshadow bases to umph up any colours you put on top. However on their own not so sure. Maybe an eyeshadow base would help to make them not slide around so much? Maybe I should wear them in a different way and apply with brushes maybe? I did only use them lightly but I did that to test pigmentation. Let me know if you have any tips on how to use these. I will experiment with them more though.
My favourite is probably Pink Bon Bon. It glides on like a dream, doesn't crack or enhance dryness. It lasted for a good amount of hours even though I drank, ate and everything. It's really pigmented so here I just blotted my lips to get a little more toned down colour.
Overall I probably won't be buying any more play 101 pencils unless they're like glittery colours or ones suitable for lips. I just wasn't imprssed with the way they applied and wore on my eyes. However I do love the white glittery one. That's really pretty!
I have done a first impression video of them as well which will be up in a few days on my Youtube channel so please check it out if you can!
I hope this was helpful!
