Etude House BB Magic Cream (Refreshing) Review

It’s been a while since I did a review on a bb cream, so let’s take a look at Etudes BB Magic Cream :)

I like the box actually, it’s like holographic when you move it. I also like how the bb cream has a simple pump packaging. Easy to use. You get 35ml of product.

There are two versions of this. The one I got is for oily skin and one is for more dry skin if I remember correctly.

Okay I don’t like to complain but look at the ingredients, 5 different parabens… I know they are far down the list so it’s not that much of it, but I still dislike it since it’s not good for your skin. And I care for my skin and try to avoid as many bad ingredients as I can. (You can’t avoid everything cause it’s very common to use many “bad” ingredients in cosmetics, and I am aware of that, but look for 5 or 7 free products for exapmle and other products that states they are free from some of the less good ingredients.)
Then why did you buy it? Cause I couldn’t find the ingredients list ANYWHERE ._. Maybe I suck at searching but since it was quite cheap I thought I’d buy it anyway.

This is actually a bit yellow-based I would say. At least on my skintone. The thing is, when I first got it, I thought it looked so orange on me. But after putting it on one day and went out in the sunlight, it was fine. So don’t really know what that was…

Texture is smooth and easy to blend although it sets quite fast. It sets into a kinda semi-matte finish (before powder). It is actually a teeny tiny bit darker than my own skin but then again, my face and hands aren’t really the same color.
Okay here we go:
Coverage: Good, I’d say medium to buildable. However I do need some concealer for my red spots and trouble ares but not much. And it doesn’t look as natural as my SHINISTAR bb lotion. But I guess it’s just a personal preference :)
Lasting power: I can’t put my finger on how many hours but the sad part is that I started to get shiny after just 2 hours, and I don’t even have that oily skin. And I used the same products as I usually do, just switched the bb cream and powder. Weird, it’s nothing that you can’t blot away but during the day I get more shiny then with my SHINISTAR lotion on. I change my setting powder sometimes so it could be that I don’t know.. But I’m not a massive fan of the staying power no.
Smell: Absolutely hate it. It smells medical. Like chemicals or something.. Can’t really describe it but I don’t like the smell at all.
Feeling: Doesn’t feel sticky or greasy. However It feels a bit heavy for my personal taste and it really enhance my laughing lines a bit too much. It doesn’t really brighten up my face either. It’s not whitening which is why, I know. But I do prefer a whitening or brightening bb cream just to make me look more awake. This kinda makes me still look as dull as I did when I woke up haha >.<
OVERALL?
It’s alright. I’m not in love with this product. Try if you want too of course, you might love it who knows. But I personally wouldn’t really reccomend it.
Hope this was helpful xx
